Project 365 - Drat

So I missed a few days and then got disheartened. It's not that I lost interest, I was just bummed that I couldn't keep it going more than what, eleven days? Gesh. That said, I still took the pictures most days - using a mix of my cell phone and cute little (new - thanks honey!) pocket camera. It is (one of many) of my goals tomorrow to get them off both and posted here. I am also going to attempt to restart it. We'll see. I may lift an idea from quite a few others: take a picture a day but post it once a week. Project 52, if you will. We shall see.

So, what's been going on this last week? Not much. Unpacking, but not near as much as I should. Instead ... I've been stitching! Oh gosh, I've missed it so. When we first came home with Emi there just wasn't the time. I put it away, hoping to return to it soon. Then the big move, or rather the big wait to move. I did start a project last summer that was supposed to be a wedding gift and then we got our travel dates to South Carolina! Eeps. Yeah, that gift didn't get done. However, since Christmas I have been stitching up a storm on it and I am SO DARNED HAPPY! It's almost done, maybe another week or so at the rate I am currently stitching. As soon as it's mailed (ha - and received) I will post the picture. I am quite pleased with the way it's turning out. I have also found a new stitching shop (well, new to me) and they have twice monthly get togethers. I have already been once! They are a great group and I look forward to more stitching with them.

So, that's about it. Nothing earth shattering, but I am again finding my happy place. I can't believe how much I missed stitching. I just need to find a balance between that and unpacking (oh, and laundry, the house, cooking and groceries, and .... Jeff & Emi!).

Tomato Soup has to be one of Emi's favorite meals. Awhile back, I found the most incredible recipe for homemade. Emi's never had it from a can (I'm not a big fan of canned soups because if the sodium). She will eat as much of this as we will put in front of her!

BTW, I've posted the recipe before. When I get a minute at my computer, I will add a link here again. It's that good AND easy!

Edited: Here's the recipe.

Ha! You just never know when mama is going to peek around the corner and snap that picture!

It was *far* too quiet in the house, so I were looking for Little Miss Never Quiet. Imagine my surprise that she wasn't destroying the house ... or something worse! Gently rocking her animals and dolls. Very sweet. I'm hoping it was sweet that is.

Knowing Emi she was probably testing a new design of rockers to see how long it took to zoom them all off into space.

Emi and I were playing with my Blackberry camera today. She would race arond the house, setting up who (read: stuffed animals) she wanted pictures of. I finally got her to agree to be in a few.

Meet Gwen the Unicorn and Easter the baby chick (also pictured is Bear, of course!).

I have to admit, this is a pretty easy way to blog. However, I am going to need to sit down at some point and write a real post. But, not today.

This is a pretty typical picture of our day. Emi loves apples, and I am more than happy to chop one up for her. What's odd is, usually she likes Granny Smiths. Today she wanted mama's whimpy Gala (Emi and Daddy share a love of the tart.) Oh, and even the zedas (zebras) got into the act!

Oops - Missed 5/365

Yep, already I missed posting one day. Drat. But the pictures were taken, so still going to post them. While I was veg'g in front of the tv for a bit last night Emi woke up from what we think was a nightmare. She was inconsolable, so ended up in our bed - with me. Which means I never got back to the computer. Best laid plans. From now on, going to post *before* tv or goofing off!

So I was just trying to grab a quick picture of Emi and Max yesterday morning, and here is what I got. This is so Emi right now, very Miss Personality! Bear is still her constant companion, others may hang out with her, but Bear is still her go-to guy. It also seems one or both of the LP zebras have been around lately.

Bathtime as bribe for napping! I can't believe it worked, now to come up with a list of favorite things as bribes. Hey, these days - whatever it takes!

Early morning coloring session.

Emi wanted a photo of her LP's zebra. I thought, what the heck, she can do 365 too! (Well, not *every* day.)

January 1st - Project 365

Has anyone else heard of this? I read about it last year, then saw it a couple of places already this year. Basically, I am guessing, take a picture every day for a year. Yikes. That's quite a task for me, so I am not going to officially join in. However, I'd love to attempt it. Emi grew with leaps and bounds this past year. I thought it would be cool to attempt to get a picture of her every day - no matter what she looked like, was wearing - wasn't wearing, her hair a mess or all dressed up. Just a picture. It would be awesome to look back next December 31st at a Year of Emi.

Anyone else in? Unofficially or officially?

Emi eating peepa (pizza) tonight. She actually ate an entire slice of feta, mushroom and sausage pizza! First time ever eating a slice, usually she just picks everything off ... and eats the crust. (And here is Max, whom I never seem to get any pictures of anymore. He was hoping Emi would eat her pizza the usual way. Poor Max, nothing dropped on the floor tonight!)
