Not a happy girl

If anyone has suggestions to get vile tasting medicine down - and stay down, I am all ears. Ugh! They think croup, and are worried about pneumonia. Great.

Usually you can mix the meds with a little honey, and that helps. with my Babies I bought a little medicine syringe and just squirted it in there. with my son I had to hold him down and pry his mouth open (he had an ear infection and hated the penicillien.)

We had a VERY SCARY brush with croup with Danica at 16 months that involved a four nights stay at our Children's hospital, one of those in Intensive care and lots of IV meds. Luckily, there were lots of IV meds. She took the antibiotics they sent home OK from a spoon.

I hope emi's OK and she heals up fast. Croup scares me. :-P hugs!

Oh, poor little mite. I don't have any great suggestions for hiding the medicine, but I DO remember hiding Polyvisol (which smells and tastes nasty, but the doctor made us give it to her) in the Tongginator's formula when she was very young and first home. I hope Emi feels better soon!

Poor baby!!!!!! The only medicine we give 'round here is Tylenol, and the kids are always BEGGING for it.

If it was something else...I would measure it into a sippy cup of the kids' favorite sweet drink. Straight soda pop? Coke might hide ANYTHING. It might not stay down though....

Both my kids love warm water with lemon juice and honey. ??

Good luck!!

Hope she feels better soon! We just went thru that with Maddy. Not really sure what it was was finally after 2 trips to the doctor & a round of antibiotics she felt better after a week of a high fever & coughing non-stop.
