December 2nd

This post was supposed to happen yesterday. However, Little Bit had other plans. Saturday night (or should I say *very* early Sunday morning) and most of the day Sunday Emi spent breaking through (finally!) her first tooth.

Yeah for Emi! Yeah for Mama and Daddy surviving! Yeah for Baby Tylenol and Orajel!

You can barely see it, but it's there. For the last several weeks we could see hints of white through her gums just waiting to break through. Finally, late Sunday afternoon it did. Or rather, we think that's when it did. Only reason we know for sure is that she was gnawing on her favorite chew toy (that would be my fingers) when CHOMP! After dislodging my bloody stump (okay, not really) from the jaws of death I looked at Jeff and said "that tooth has arrived". He just grinned and told me that all the yelling (mine, not hers) sorta told him that. Good thing I love that man.

So, now that I have shared all the gory details, back to our regularly scheduled blog post:

Today Yesterday marks Little Bit's 10-month 'birthday'. No, we don't have any planned, I am just sharing. :) And tomorrow today marks 5 weeks since they placed a sleeping baby girl in my arms. Funny, I still tear up when I remember that.

She is still an amazingly happy and cheerful baby during the day which, considering how much sleep she doesn't get, is pretty darned amazing. Yes, we are still having sleep issues. Well, she is ... Mama and Daddy could happily sleep. No matter how much or how little daytime naps, no matter what time we put her down at night, no matter if she falls asleep in her peas and carrots (one of her fav foods right now) at dinner ... it still takes three to four hours for her to truly settle down to sleep. We are working on this, and Jeff has assured me that it's just a phase and she will grow out of it ... in time to leave for college. He was just kidding, right?

Well, Little Bit is ready to do something else besides let Mama blog. Have a great day everyone!

its always soooo exciting when the baby gets the 'first' of everything....

that moment is precious, irreversible, unforgettable...

their first tooth, their first words, call you Mama for the very first time, first step, first smile....

Awww...moments like these can only be captured as memories...they grow up soooo fast...*sigh*
