Christmas Plans

We don't have anything too elaborate planned this year. We are keeping things low-key, especially since Emi, again, is running a temp (and pretty high at the moment, 103.4). Tylenol and Motrin seem to be doing the trick, but she's just not a happy gal. She's trying, she plays with her toys but then just starts to cry/whine. After a pick-up and a snuggle, she wants back down to play. And on it goes. So with that in mind, if she isn't doing any better we may push off celebrating Christmas by a day. She has no idea and really, what's important is being together as a family. Not unwrapping presents or eating a fancy dinner. If she needs to be held, I am not going to be in the kitchen, cooking up a storm. Not that I have all that much planned. But, for what it's worth, here's what I on the menu:

For Christmas morning (it will be baking while we do the present thing):
... Stuffed French Toast

For Christmas dinner: Marinaded Pork Tenderloin, wild rice, carrots, garlic-rosemary pinwheel rolls and (probably) apple pie for dessert. No, I haven't had a chance to make it yet (cue above paragraph). We will see if I have time during nap(s) to make it. If not, ice cream will have to do. Or leftover breakfast!

I hear you Kiy, new babies + Holiday fanfare just don't mix very well. :) Of course my little girl is not even two weeks so has no idea what is going on. Next year will be when we start getting more elaborate. :) This year I'm going to enjoy sitting in front of the fireplace and snuggling her while she will let me. :)

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. Sick babies definitely are more important than food and presents. :) Hope she's all better now.
